Brazil's government is the Federal Republic, just like the American government. A federal republic is a form of government made up of a federal state with a constitution and self-governing subunits. History of Brazilian Government:
From 1964-1985, Brazil's military generals controlled the government making sure that the country was supplied with everything that it needed. Then in 1985, the civilian government was restored, and a democratic constitution was also took effect.That was a huge benefit to the Brazilians as it let them vote for the first time to elect their officials!!! Now, the president is added to help the government in taking control and charge of the country. The present president of Brazil is Dilma Rousseff.
